Last week I shared my Drabby side...and later shared my Fabby side. This week, I promised to share my feet (I bet you are on pins and needles for that one!)
Cheapskate Mom: I'm so glad we picked feet as our first DTFF focus. I forgot all about my feet. They look awful!
Dipaola Momma: Yeah and um have you seen MINE?
Cheapskate Mom: I never take the time to look at the bottoms of my feet and after I soaked them in the foot spa, I was shocked to see two deep cracks on the soles! I used the file, grater thingy and my feet are looking better but those cracks...ugh. I need to give my poor feet some regular love from now on!
DiPaola Momma: Grater, HA! For some reason I get this picture in my head of you standing by a table (like Pepper-man from SNL) saying, in your best Cheescake Mom voice, would you like some more feet with that? Yeah I often wonder why it is we don't spend enough time on the tootsies.
Cheapskate Mom: The best part of taking my feet from Drabby to Fabby is how soft they feel! I loved Lisa's tip about using olive oil and sugar, and your tip about massaging your feet in a circular motion. The scrub felt so nice on my feet. I love that I can have a DIY pedicure at home using things I have in my pantry!
DiPaola Momma: Oh Lisa's tip was GREAT! I'm giving it a try today for my fabby. My feet tend to get so dry they stick to the sheets.. TMI? Living in a mostly Italian household I've always got one of those industrial sized containers of olive oil in my pantry, so I won't feel bad stealing from the pantry to treat the feets.
Here is my Drabby to Fabby Feet Edition Journey:
Drabby:

Yikes!
Ahhhhhhhh...
Sweet...
Undercover:
Fabby!
You know what I got out of this experience? I discovered that no matter how busy you are, you can still make time for yourself! Not to mention my feet feel softer than a baby's butt right now!
In case you missed it, here is a recap of the Fabby Feet tips we posted last week!
This week's Fabby Tip comes from our friend, Lisa over at Learning Beauty Daily. Lisa is also an Avon Rep and she is super knowledgeable when it comes to affordable beauty!
Lisa recommends using Avon Foot Works Conditioning Foot Soak (on sale this week for only $2.99) or Epsom salts with tea tree oil to a warm tub of water. Soak feet for 15 minutes and then scrub with a mix of sugar and olive oil (about 1/2 cup sugar to 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil). Rinse and enjoy your soft, touchable feet!
DiPaola Momma added this tip: You can also get a great moisture boost while getting into the fall mood by using 1/2 cup of quick oats pulsed in a blender until fine and mixed with 1/2 tsp cinnamon and 1/2 tsp olive oil. Soak feet for 15 minutes enjoying the warming sensations and wonderful aroma therapy. Remove them to a towel warmed for 30 seconds in the microwave. Rubbing in a circular motion will help increase circulation through out your body and help you relax.
To trim nails, cut straight across, then file down corners to reduce chances of ingrown nails. It's easier to cut or trim toenails after soaking, bathing or showering. The nails are softer and make cleaner cuts. Always rinse or swab nail clippers before and after use with a rubbing alcohol to reduce bacteria transfer.
Lotion up using your favorite foot cream or lotion and put on clean cotton socks until morning. When you wake up, your feet will feel and look refreshed and renewed!
Thanks, Lisa for those awesome tips! Please stop by Lisa's blog and say hello! She has generously contributed several items from Avon for our first Drabby to Fabby Giveaway!

9 Cheap Peeps plunked in their two cents!:
I posted my DTFF photos up on my site! You mentioned to post directly to the post, how do you do that, remember, I'm not that blog savy!!
It was a lot of fun!!!
Nice tootsies Cheescake! Every time I see pretty red nail polish I always here Robin Williams as Mrs. Doubtfire saying "Red is a tradition color for street walkers dear."
So, on that note, nice hooker red toes! :D (sorry, it had to be done, sometimes i just can't help myself.)
I tell you, doing my feet last week made such a difference to my outlook on life! This weekend, I'm going to get a before shot of myself straight out of bed, so get ready to be SCARED!
I left you an award on my blog!
Wow, nice tootsies! Hehe.
I did my toenails for the first time in an age for when I went on holiday and I instantly felt more glam, so I am definitely doing it more often now!
I use Avon foot soak, it is soooooo good.
Feet ahoy!
Your DTFF has released my inner "house fairy".
I tried posting your DTFF button to my page but apparently I don't know how.
Wow, this made me remember that maybe I should take a break and some time for myself! Thanks
I agree with Jessica! As the mom of 3 awesome boys, I sometimes get lost in the testosterone in our house. It was a GREAT reminder.
Hey--I have linked-up a second time, just for the fun of giving my whole self a makeover!! No pressure on entering me for the draw either time though. I live in Canada, so I never really expect to win anything, because half the time living outside the US disqualifies me for these things! Not looking like a troll for a few minutes was prize enough!!
