First I want to say I am ok. I was on my way to work last night and I take a gravel road. Normally the road is hard as it is used so much but last night it was freshly grated and it was soft uncompacted sand. My rear wheels lost theirgrip and I fishtailed. I could not regain control and ended up hitting the ditch at 40 or so miles per hour and then flpped my minivan twice into a field. I always wear my belt and the paramedics said this saved my life. I had to be cut out of my car.

I have a cracked rib and it hurts worse than childbirth. But I am so grateful to be alive. I am on some hardcore painkilers and it is hard to type and keep my eyes open. I just wanted to update you all.

Heard about your accident on Chicken Nuggets--Glad to hear you were not seriously hurt.
I am another one who can attest to seat belts saving lives as I was hit broadside in the driver's door by a (probably drunk)speeding driver in a pick up truck. My car was totaled, but I wasn't.

When I was a teenager, I did this exact thing, only I wasn't wearing a seat belt, ended up with a total of 54 stiches.
I think you should get a lottery ticket today. Luck should never be wasted!! :)

We have seen somebody doing that in our front yard and flipping his car in our ditch in front of our eyes and it was scary. Both of you truly had guardians angels at your side, because it could have ended deadly.

OK my heart dropped when I read the title and even though you said you were ok, it just kept beating crazy. I'm so glad you made it out ok, but I'm sorry you have to deal with cracked rib and getting a new vehichle.
